Aylesbury Durga Puja cordially invites you and your family to join us celebrate Durga Puja 2024
Puja Description
Durga Puja is a one of the most celebrated Hindu festival that celebrates the triumph of Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. This auspicious occasion is marked by elaborate rituals, vibrant decorations, and devotional gatherings. Devotees come together to honour the divine feminine energy embodied by Goddess Durga, seeking her blessings for protection, prosperity, and well-being.
The festival spans several days, each with its own significance, beginning with Mahalaya, where the invocation of the goddess takes place. The main days of the celebration include Sashthi, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, and Vijayadashami, each filled with prayers, offerings, and cultural performances. The rituals are steeped in tradition, with the recitation of sacred texts, the sound of dhak (traditional drums), and the fragrance of incense creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Durga Puja is not only a time for worship but also a celebration of community and cultural heritage, bringing together people from all walks of life in a shared expression of faith and devotion.
Triveni Aylesbury will celebrate Durga Puja starting Friday 11th October 6:00 PM until 13th October 6:00 PM
